 Ottawa River near Explorer's Point
Algonquin Provincial Park
 Algonquin Provincial Park is world famous for its 765,345 ha of secluded pristine waterways and wilderness areas, and is cherished by canoeists, hikers and sightseers.
The two main access points to Northern Algonquin Park are Kiosk, at the end of Highway 630 (off Highway 17 between Mattawa and North Bay) and Brent. Brent is reached by taking Brent Road, off Highway 17 between Mattawa and Deux Rivieres, and along the Brent Road can be found the lookout tower and hiking trail of the Brent Meteorite Crater.
The Highway 630 route to Kiosk is both scenic and steeped in history.
Bird's Eye View & East Montreuil Lake  ATV, cycle, horseback ride or hike past scenic East Montreuil Lake to the Bird's Eye View lookout on the Voyageur Multi Use Trail System (VMUTS).
The main VMUTS trailheadis just outside Mattawa and is signposted off Highway 533. The Bird's Eye View is 6km from the VMUTS trailhead.

Eau Claire Gorge  Don't miss visiting the spectacular falls atEau Claire Gorge. A circular trail of 1.9 km (1.2 miles) takes you through mixed forest and beside the Amable du Fond River. A shortcut takes you to the falls in minutes from the trailhead.
The trailhead is at the end of Graham Road, off Peddler's Drive in Calvin.
Explorers' Point Park
 Watch the sun setting over the upper Ottawa River at Explorers' Point Park in Mattawa.
The park sits at the junction of the Mattawa and Ottawa Rivers. It offers wonderful views both up and downriver, set against the backdrop of the Laurentian Mountains across the Ottawa River in Quebec.
There is ample parking at Explorers' Point which is just over the bridges at the end of Mattawa's main street (Monestime Way).
Harmony Ridge Trail
 This freshly re-established trail in the Laurentian Mountains provides several impressive view points.
Accessed from the trails at Nature's Harmony Ecolodge, 15 minutes from Mattawa off Highway 533, this is a great hike, snowshoe or mountain bike.
Mattawa River Boardwalk

Stroll along the boardwalk by the lazy Mattawa River. Eat a picnic, watch the boats go by and admire the river as it makes its way to join up with the Ottawa River.
To find the boardwalk, go down Mattawa's main street (Monestime Way) toward the bridges over the Mattawa River. Turn left onto Mattawan Street just before you reach the first bridge. This street runs alongside the river and the boardwalk.
Samuel de Champlain Provincial Park

Samuel de Champlain Provincial Park has 2,550 ha of rivers, lakes, forests and rugged hiking trails offering numerous scenic outlooks.
The entrance to the park is off Highway 17 between Mattawa and North Bay.
Scenic Driving Tour

Drive the scenic back roads between Mattawa and Bonfield and enjoy rural landscapes, wildlife viewing opportunities and scenic views.
The route is marked on the Mattawa Voyageur Country smart phone tourist portal.
The Three Crosses
 The view from the Three Crosses on the Quebec hills opposite Explorers' Point Park is stunning.
Some of the areas outfitters offer guiding services up to the Three Crosses.
